Nikkole SalterAward-winning playwright and actress NIKKOLE SALTER co-authored In the Continuum with Danai Gurira acclaimed as one of the ‘Best Plays off Broadway’ in 2005. The play was published by Weaver Press as part of a four play collection, In the Continuum and Other Plays. As an actress, with a BFA in Theatre Arts from Howard University and an MFA from New York University’s Graduate Acting Program, Nikkole played in the feature film, Pride and Glory. She returns to the off- Broadway stage in 2009 in a production of Inked Baby. Her most recent writing project, Repairing a Nation, is a funny family drama about the essence of reparations and the complexity of inheritance. Nikkole’s sense of social responsibility led her to found and operate the In the Continuum Project, Inc., a non-profit organisation that fosters innovative artistic programming for community empowerment. Their first annual endeavor, the Legacy Program – a theatre arts education, youth development initiative – has been sponsored in part by AfricanAncestry.com and will be officially launched in the autumn of 2009.
